Hi, I’m Zoe, a family photographer based in Adelaide. I love capturing real, fleeting moments – laughter, hugs, and everyday stories that make life full of heart.
I picked up a camera about ten years ago, mostly to photograph food – and the people cooking it. Cooking has always been my happy place, a love (and skill) I inherited from my late mum. I loved the way the kitchen smelled when fresh herbs hit the pan, or how the sunlight caught the steam rising from a pot of soup.
Seven years ago, I packed my backpack and set off across New Zealand and Australia, staying with local families along the way. I’m grateful they opened their homes and lives to me, letting me see the everyday beauty of their world. Somewhere along the way, I realised I was drawn to capturing the warmth, quirks, and honest connections that surfaced in those everyday moments with people.
These days, I’ve traded the backpacker life for a home base in Adelaide. I’ve tried other jobs, wandered down different career paths, and I’m currently studying interior design – a pursuit that’s deepened my appreciation for light, space, and atmosphere, which I now bring into my photography. Yet, the same pull keeps bringing me back to capturing people and those fleeting, genuine emotions that make us human. So I decided not to wait any longer. I’ve joined workshops with photographers I admire, learning, experimenting, and finding new ways to tell stories through my lens.
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll probably find me in the kitchen baking homemade sourdough, listening to the crust crack as it cools, planning my next trip, or simply sitting in the sun, feeling its warmth on my face, daydreaming. You know… capture the moment before it’s gone.
